Nourishing Bodies, Uplifting Souls
When we talk about helping those in need, food is often the first thing that comes to mind. A warm meal fills an empty stomach, brings comfort, and sustains life. But at Amma Nanna Anada Ashramam, we believe true nourishment goes beyond food. It is about feeding the soul — giving love, dignity, and hope to those who have long been forgotten by society.
Every day, our Nithya Annadanam program serves fresh, wholesome meals to over 600 mentally challenged orphans. This daily act of care is not just about calories and nutrition; it is about letting each individual know they are seen, valued, and loved. For someone who has faced rejection, loneliness, and hardship, this simple act of serving a meal with a smile can light up their world.
A plate of food may satisfy hunger for a few hours, but emotional warmth and compassion can uplift a person for a lifetime. That is why, in every meal we serve, we also add ingredients that cannot be bought — kindness, patience, and respect. When we sit together, share stories, and celebrate birthdays or festivals, we are feeding more than bodies; we are feeding hearts.

Many of the residents who come to our ashram have lived years without a family. For them, the Ashram is not just a shelter, but a place where they find belonging. The temple bells of Sri Punyalingeswara Swamy Kshetram, the laughter at mealtimes, the caring touch during illness — all of these are part of the nourishment we offer.
When you contribute to Nithya Annadanam, you are not just donating food — you are helping restore dignity, build self-worth, and create moments of joy. You are helping us serve both body and soul, ensuring no one is left feeling forgotten.
Because when love is served along with food, hunger truly ends.
