A Promise to Never Let a Plate Go Empty

Feeding Hope, Fulfilling Daily Promise

In a world where abundance and scarcity exist side by side, it is heartbreaking to know that so many go to bed hungry every single night. Hunger is not just an empty stomach — it is a silent crisis that steals health, dignity, and hope. At Amma Nanna Anada Ashramam, we have made a lifelong commitment to change that reality for as many lives as we can reach. Our promise is simple yet powerful: never let a plate go empty.

For the people in our care, food is more than nutrition — it is a reminder that they are seen, valued, and loved. Most of them are mentally challenged orphans, individuals who have faced unimaginable struggles in life. Many were found on the streets, abandoned, and without anyone to call family. Here, in our Ashram, they find not just shelter but a place where every meal is served with kindness and dignity.

Why Fighting Hunger Matters Every Day

Hunger doesn’t wait for festivals or special occasions — it is a constant challenge. For someone without a home, even one missed meal can mean days of weakness and illness. That is why we believe feeding the hungry is not an act of occasional charity, but a daily responsibility. Each plate we serve is more than food — it is a promise that no one in our Ashram will have to fight their battles on an empty stomach.

Nithya Annadanam – The Heart of Our Mission

To fulfill this promise, we run our Nithya Annadanam program — a daily meal service that ensures no one under our care is left hungry. This is not a one-time event or seasonal drive — it is a 365-day commitment.

Through Nithya Annadanam, we provide three wholesome meals every single day to over 600 mentally challenged orphans in our Ashram. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are prepared in our kitchen with fresh ingredients, balanced nutrition, and most importantly, love.

Here’s where your kindness makes the biggest difference — when you donate ₹1,000,116, you are sponsoring an entire month of meals for all 600 residents of the Ashram. That means more than 54,000 meals in just one month, directly because of your generosity.

Your contribution doesn’t just fill plates — it fills hearts with hope, restores health, and gives our residents the energy to live their days with dignity.

Beyond Food – A Sense of Belonging

While Nithya Annadanam focuses on ensuring no one goes hungry, it does something even more profound — it creates a feeling of family. Mealtimes in our Ashram are moments of connection, laughter, and togetherness. For many, it’s the first time in years they have experienced the simple joy of sharing a meal with others who care.

We believe that a plate of food can be the beginning of healing — not just for the body, but for the soul.

How You Can Join Our Promise

Our kitchen runs every day because of the unwavering support of compassionate people like you. Whether it’s sponsoring a day’s meals, a week’s supply, or an entire month through Nithya Annadanam, your support means no one here will have to wonder where their next meal will come from.

When you give to Nithya Annadanam, you are not just donating — you are becoming part of a mission that keeps hope alive, one plate at a time.
